About CASART The Central Adirondack Search and Rescue Team, Inc. (CASART) is a not-for-profit IRS 501c3 Corporation. Our mission is to provide a well-trained and disciplined search and rescue team to assist New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers in search and rescue operations. The primary area that we cover includes Herkimer County, most of Hamilton County, southern St. Lawrence County and Oneida County, but we will respond as needed to any emergency throughout the Northeast. Team Composition and Equipment:
CASART is divided into two Sub-Teams, Team 1 Adirondack, and Team 2, CNY, Central New York. Our Adirondack sub-team has 7 crew bosses, 28 field members and 13 administrative members. Our Central New York sub-team has 5 crew bosses, 24 field members and 12 administrative members. Other Team Information: CASART is an all volunteer organization that survives entirely on membership dues and donations.
