CASART - 13th Activation

STAR LAKE SEARCH & RESCUE
St. Lawrence County, NY 03/31/06

CASART was notified on Saturday 03/31/06 at 9:30a.m. by St. Lawrence County 911 Emergency Services to activate the team and report to the Incident Command Post at the Star Lake Department on Rt. 3 in Star Lake, NY at 2:00p.m.  Type III searchers and crew bosses were requested to locate William Hassig or subject, an 82 year old male in early stage of Alzheimer’s who was hiking with his two sons and did not return to the car on Friday 03/30/06.

The following six (6) CASART members reported to the Incident Command Post at 2:00p.m. to discover that the subject had been located around 1:15p.m. by helicopter and had been transported to the hospital, cold, wet, hungry and tired, but okay: Ron Dearlove, Greg O’Hara, Roy Reehil, Corky Risley, Bob Van Slyke and Bob Wheeler.
